What
are guarantors? |
It is sometimes possible to use a Continuing Parental
or Sponsor Guaranty Form. We sometimes allow college
students to use guarantors. The qualified guarantor
will actually sign the lease, since the student will be
in school and unable to earn the required amount to
qualify to lease. The guarantor becomes responsible to
personally guarantee the Lease.

| Are my personal belongings covered by the apartments
insurance? |
Grandview Pointe Management does
not provide, nor is it required that we provide,
insurance for your personal belongings as part of your
lease. We strongly suggest that you give serious
consideration to purchasing a policy to cover the
contents, any jewelry, computer equipment, or other
items of value. |
| How do I register to vote in Mobile County? |
You may register to vote at the
Mobile County Courthouse. Typical office
hours are: Monday -
Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed 12-1 for lunch).
You will need to bring proof of your birth date, your
social security number, and your local address. Your
Alabama or out-of-state driver's license will do for all
except the social security number, and a paid utility
bill, lease or such with your current address on it will
verify your local address. |
|
How long will my out-of-state drivers license
and automobile tag be accepted in Alabama before
becoming invalid? |
For all persons desiring to
establish residency in the state, an Alabama driver's
license and automobile license must be procured within
30 days after entering the state. A visitor is not
required to purchase a driver's permit or auto license
locally. Driving permits and automobile licenses may be
purchased at the local DMV. |
|
Is the insurance on my auto and personal
property still valid if I move from another
state? |
Most standard auto policies cover
anywhere in the Continental U.S. Particular attention
should be paid to limits of liability as required by the
Alabama Financial Responsibility Law - limits required
are 10/20/50. Contact your Chamber of Commerce for a
listing of local insurance agents who will gladly
furnish you with any additional information you might
desire. Your policy on your personal property, as a
rule, is invalid and must be rewritten. Call an agent of
your insurance company and have a new policy written, or
obtain verification from the agent issuing your policy
that it does provide coverage in this state.
